What happens to the money we raise with the fundraising projects? Glad you
asked!!
Your hard work and effort really DOES pay off! For the 2010-2011
school year, Music Parents raised over $70,000 to help fund items and activities in our programs!!!!! With the funding and program cuts hitting our school district these efforts become even more important!

In the last few years, MPA funds have helped in the following ways:
- BAND
We have purchased, helped purchase or provided for the following:
A marimba, Snare drums w/cases and stands, a piccolo, a bass trombone, a sousaphone, miscellaneous instrument repairs and supplies, Senior dinners, Water & food (No, not just apples but pizzas!), Festival fees, Guest artists, New band room setup (cabinets, bulletin boards, filing cabinets, scanning/framing old photos, etc.), Uniform cleaning and repairs (does NOT come out of the school budget), Band leadership and marching camp expenses, Bus transportation – (and yes it takes about 5 Motorcoach or 7-8 school busses to move this group!), Drumline clinic fees with transportation, and more more more.
- ORCHESTRA
We have purchased, helped purchase or provided for the following:
Detroit Symphony trip in May of 2011, String and bass accessories, Double bass outfit, Setup of new orchestra room (cabinets, bulletin boards, filing cabinets, scanning/framing old photos, etc.), stereo system, Performance expenses such as guest artists, fees, programs etc., Post concert receptions, Senior dinners, Office supplies, Insurance, and much more.
- CHOIR
We have purchased, helped purchase or provided for the following:
Meisters April 2011 New York Trip, Performance expenses such as accompanists, transportation and sectional coaches, Music, Uniform cleaning and repairs, Chairs and more.
There are so many more needs with no funding in the school budget!
We need your continued help in raising funds to allow our students to
continue in our music programs to the level of excellence that has been
established.
